A mysterious Canned Heat album known as Live at Topanga Corral was released towards the end of 1970 to little fanfare or notice by music publications. Purporting to be an early live performance, serious Canned Heat fans saw Live at Topanga Corral in the record racks and snapped it up. Years later, the truth became known: the album was recorded in 1968 Live at the Kaleidoscope in Hollywood, California and not at the Topanga Corral as the original title suggested but the Heat is on fire at the Kaleidoscope.
